I was born in Switzerland, but love carried me across an ocean. I came to the United States to marry the love of my life, an American, and Northern California became both my home and the landscape of my imagination. When I lost him to ALS, grief changed the shape of my world and asked me to explore my soul on a deeper level – to listen for what remains when life becomes quiet, uncertain, and profoundly precious.
English is my second language, and finding my voice in it took time, patience, and courage. For years, poems and stories lived inside me before I had the words to release them. Loss drew me further inward, while writing and painting offered paths through sorrow and toward discovery. Now, with my dog beside me, I roam Northern California and the wider world, gathering light, color, fleeting encounters, and small wonders – fragments of life that return to me as images, poems, and stories.
